3. The difference between home swap and hospitality swap?

When swapping homes to parties temporarily swap homes. They meet each other shortly or not at all. During Hospitality swap the parties take turns being guests at each others house. They will stay with each other for a period of time and show each other around in their own country or city.

4. Who wants to stay in my home?

History tells us that home swappers aren't looking for luxury stays in fancy villas but want to experience a real authentic home swap. Home swappers who want to visit an other country, long to experience the culture and life of that country. Their motivation to visit your country could also be to visit family (this frequently happens with members from Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand). Or people who like to come to Europe.

When a member wants to swap houses with someone who also has a more luxurious home. When this is the case it will be clearly stated in the members personal page.
But most members find it more important to visit a certain country or place then what kind of home the stay.

5. Do I have to swap simultaneous?

You do not have to swap homes per se. Most people swap simultaneous but there are also members who put up their second home for the swap. This provides the possibility to swap at different times when this suits both parties.

6. Can I do a home exchange in my own country?

Off course you can! When you search for homes in your own country you can read the profiles of the different members. On these pages you will find the countries they want to visit. If they state their own country as well you can propose a swap.

7. How long does a regular exchange holiday last?

The duration of the exchange depends on what the members agree on when they exchange homes. Typically the holiday duration is 1 to 3 weeks but trans-Atlantic exchanges may be for more weeks. Also some members do a home exchange for just the weekend or a few days.

8. Is the car included with the home exchange?

This is something you agree on while discussing the home exchange. Including cars into the exchange can save a lot of money for both parties but it depends on what you and the members you swap with want.

Depending on the kind of holiday you want to spend you could easily save hundreds or thousands of dollars!

A holiday in a resort, with dining in restaurants daily easily costs thousands of dollars for you and your family. And a apartment in Spain or southern France may costs up to 700 euros a week or more. And that goes the same for the United States or Canada.

This money you can save by exchanging your home. Money you can spend on visiting all the wonder full places the country you are visiting has to offer.

None the less, regular home exchangers state they do it mostly for the comfort of heaving a real home, the people they meet and the culture they come to experience. The things they don't get from booking a regular holiday!
